by There is a new announcement released from Japanese government and regarding entry to Japan, COVID negative certificate or COVID fully (completed 3 times ) vaccination certificate will be no longer required from 08 May 2023.
1. What change from 08 May?
Currently we are required to show COVID negative report within 72 hours from departure time we took COVID test, or fully COVID vaccination certificate that you completed 3 times vaccinations.
From 08 May 2023, these reports or certificates won’t be required when you enter Japan.
This makes us more confused and sometimes more difficult to visit Japan. There are still a lot of people who don’t want to take third vaccination and COVID test conducted before 72 hours prior to the departure is still confusing us. The COVID test is not cheap, each time at least more than $100.
Finally we can travel as normal to Japan, like before COVID.

2. New surveillance will be conducted from 08 May
At the same time, Japanese government announced that a new surveillance will be started from 08 May 2023.
This is to find or monitor if new virus is coming into.
