The Japan Rail Pass (JR PASS) is known as unlimited pass to use Japan Railway transport(JR lines) including Shinkansen (bullet train) and Narita Express. You can choose 7 Days, 14 Days, and 21 Days pass and also there are two types of pass, Ordinary or Green pass.
Green pass is for reserving comfortable and spacious seats when you ride Shinkansen or certain JR lines.
JR PASS prices depend on the exchange rate on the day between Japanese currency and Australian dollars.

ELIGIBILITY for JAPAN RAIL PASS:
• You are a tourist visiting Japan for sightseeing from abroad, under the entry status of ‘temporary visitor’. ‘Temporary visitor’ entry status allows a stay in Japan of up to 90 days for sight-seeing, etc. When you enter Japan, entry immigration will stamp your passport as a temporary visitor.
• The valid period of a JAPAN RAIL PASS is consecutive 7, 14, or 21 days. Once the PASS has a starting date written on it, the date cannot be changed.
• The Exchange order is only valid for 3 months from date of issue and must be exchanged for the Japan Rail pass within this period. When exchanging, it is necessary to specify the date that you want to start using the Pass.
• Refunds can only be made with the original JR Pass Exchange Order within 12 months of the date of issue.
• Neither an Exchange Order nor a Japan Rail Pass can be re-issued if lost or stolen.
