by Chichibu Night Festival, which is registered as UNESCO intangible cultural heritage and traditional festival in Chichibu, was held on 03 December 2023 and a lot of visitors were excited to see the gorgeous floats and walk together.
This Chichibu Night Festival has been going through more than 300 years ago at Chichibu Shrine in Saitama Pref has been registered as UNESCO intangible cultural heritage.
In the festival, gorgeous traditional floats decorated by paper lantern was going to ‘Otabisho” , the festival main venue approximately 1 km with Chichibu traditional Japanese drum music.
The biggest attraction was that more than 50t floats were going up on the steep around 50m. The float people were pulling them up with cheering shout “Washoi, Washoi !”
In the main venue, there were approximately 6,500 fireworks for the festival climax.
According to Chichibu city council, more than 360,000 people visited Chichibu Night Festival this year on 02 and 03 December.
(Basically this festival every year is held on 02 and 03 December, but the main day is 03 DEC)
