by Much more people like Japanese anime and other second cultures. Chichibu is also used for some anime movies’ scenes. Did you know that? To go around such anime spots should be enjoyable for Chichibu travel. Today l will show you some anime spots in Chichibu.
Here may be the most famous anime spot, especially “Anohana” anime movie. (The Flower We Saw That Day)
Also, this bridge showed up in Crayon Shinchan movie “Onsen Battle” , a red-huge robot was walking across this bridge.
From here, it is like Anohana route. Chichibu shrine was used for a scene that a boy is jogging in front of here. This shrine has about 2,100 years history and main base for floats in Chichibu Night Festival in December.
From Chichibu shrine, there is a railway very close for Chichibu railway trains operating. The closet station is Chichibu station. The pathway along the railway also showed up in the Anohana scenes, especially the area between Ohanabatake station ~ Chichibu station was picked up mainly.
Then from there, you keep walking up to Chichibu station. Just inside the station, there is a local souvenir shop. The scene that a boy gave a young child snack bread should be just in front of this building. I feel the vending machine and the building appearance are very similar, aren’t they?

Old Chichibu Bridge
If you want to visit the Chichibu bridge, actually it is a little far from the central Chichibu area. We recommend you using Chichibu railway and get off at Onohara Station and approximately 10 minutes walk. (Around 1km away from the Onohara station)
There are no parking around the Chichibu bridge so better by train and walk!
Chichibu Station
Simply you take a train Chichibu railway and get off at the Chichibu station! There is only one entrance & exit so it shouldn’t get you confused.
Chichibu Shrine
From the above Chichibu station, you just walk approximately 5 minutes walking! So I may recommend en-route to go to the shrine. Let’s walk along the railway to see the Anohana movie scene before arriving at Chichibu Shrine!
