Enjoy KOTATSU Warm Table on Boat in Chichibu Winter!

Kotatsu is typical and famous item in Japanese winter season at each family. It is very warm, comfortable, and Japanese version “Couch Potato”.

You can experience this wonderful Kotatsu culture on a boat in Chichibu Nagatoro!

What is Kotatsu?

There is a table with blanket, then electrical heater is attached under the Kotatsu table.

In winder, most Japanese family prepare the Kotatsu and several people get together at the Kotatsu, then they eat lunch or dinner, snack, and just watch TV. It is very typical style for them to relax together.

If they use air condition longer time in the room, the bill raises up so much. However, they get together in the Kotatsu and it costs only small electrical heater under the Kotasu table. Because a blanket covers the table, it doesn’t have to raise the heater temperature so much.
