Find Your Secret Gourmet Place in Chichibu

Let’s find your own gourmet place! There are a lot of nice restaurants and cafes in Chichibu, but if you take longer time and walk in deeper nature then suddenly find new places, it makes your trip much more adventure!

1.  Mokutei

The above photo is from Chichibu Omotenashi Kankosha facebook page https://ms-my.facebook.com/chichibuomotenashikosya/posts/4966994816753534/

The cafe is MOKUTEI (木亭), which means wooden house café.

Here is very close from Seibu Chichibu station, just 10 minutes walking, but it might be hard to recognize here is a cafe.

After you come into the entrance, you go up to the second floor by steps, then when you open the door, the café space is, yes, antique café!

It seems that you are watching a little bit old Japanese anime, aren’t you?

2. Soba-Fuku

It is really hidden Soba buckwheat noodle restaurant! It should be a great adventure to visit this restaurant and memorable experience to eat Soba here!

My favorite is Walnut Soba (Kurumiwari-soba). If you see the menu from the website, that is くるみざるそば or くるみ天ざるそば.

くるみざるそば(Kurumizaru-soba) is just like normal cold soba. くるみ天ざるそば(Kurumi-tenzaru-soba) is that Tempura is added to the Kurumizaru-soba.

3. Taikotei
(The above image is from Google Map)

It’s really traditional Japanese restaurant and Soba is its main menu, but you can enjoy more kinds of Japanese cuisine with Soba, for example, fried pork, curry soup Soba, Udon, and Japanese lunch set menu.

Check the restaurant gallery from here!

It is just 10 minutes walking from Wakamiko Shrine

4. Alfee

This cafe is surrounded by only a few houses and mountain. I have never seen any crowded in the cafe. (It’s good meaning. Only local residents and specific fans know this cafe.)

Must be great cafe for brunch, coffee break, and lunch!

5. Cafe Nishiki

There are not so much information in any website and tour guide books. If you spend your own time with calm, relaxation atmosphere, or if you go to a cafe which is not known so much, here is the best place for you!

There are just a few houses and one primary school close to this cafe. If you visit here for your coffee break, you will see a lot of young local children!
