Some nationalities (e.g. Chinese tourists) need to obtain Japan visa for your sightseeing. But it is not difficult!
At first, please visit the website of Consulate General of Japan. The basic required documents can be found

<Process to get Japan visa>
- Based on the above link, or information by Consulate General of Japan, collect your required documents and complete Japan visa application form.
- Book your appointment by online from the website of Consulate General of Japan, or use designated travel agent. (Service fee applies)
- Bring your physical passport and required documents to Consulate General of Japan or your agent. If you use the agent, you also need to prepare proxy letter.
- Once all documents are received by Consulate General of Japan, your visa is issued basically 5 business days. (Both Japan and Australia calendar applies)
- After 5 business days passed, or when you receive a contact that your visa has been issued, visit Consulate General of Japan or your agent again to pick up your passport. Your Japan visa label is attached in your passport.
