Finally the weather is getting cool in Japan and outside of humid summer season!
Nagatoro is also moving to next season, the best nature view surrounded Chcichibu Mountains!
Do Not Miss Colored Nagatoro
The best period to see the colored Nagatoro would be between the end of October and the beginning of December.
Of course it depends on the climate of year. I think as my personal opinion, November is more secure to be able to see the Nagatoro Autumn color nature.
This season is also quite famous so a lot of tourists come and enjoy the nature sightseeing. Nagatoro mountain leaves are getting colored from the end of October, then middle of November should be the best timing to see the most beautiful landscape.
It is called like “Chichibu Red Rock Wall” in this season if you see Arakawa River.
View Autumn Nagatoro on Boat
If you are on boat with Nagatoro Line Kudari (Nagatoro Traditional Boat Cruise), you will see wonderful colored Chichibu mountains, rock walls, and the colored nature on the surface.
The boat has 2 courses, starting at Oyahana bridge or at the main ticket office.
If you see the colored nature, I recommend starting at main ticket office, so the boat is going downstream. You maybe can see more colorful scenes.
Also, Nagatoro Koyo (Colored leaves) Festival will be held whole November, and you can see bright light-up in a park during 10 ~ 23 November

Book Nagatoro Line Kudari
Hodosan
It should be impressive shrine surrounded autumn colored nature. If you go up by cable car, you can see colored Nagatoro city.
Moon Stone Momiji Park
Light-up spot is here during Nagatoro Koyo Festival.
Takahama Kyoshi, who was the famous poet long time ago, wrote like “This is the moon stone that I should write and leave my poem” here.
More than 50 trees are lit up during the festival.
