JR Pass Expands Services and Price Up from October

Japan Railway Company has announced Japan Rail Pass service will be expanded but the ticket price will be also raised up.

Japan Rail Pass (JR Pass) is very convenient and cheap Japan transport ticket for international travelers. This is valid for only international travellers for short term stay as sightseeing purpose or Japanese citizenship who stay overseas consecutively more than 10 years.

How will the pass condition changed?

From October, JR Pass service will be expanded more. The details will be announced later from JR Group.

One big change is that you will be able to get on Nozomi and Mizuho Shinkansei (Bullet train) with JR Pass by additional cost.

JR hasn’t released yet the information as well about the additional cost and how much it is.

How much will the price be raised up?

According to JR, each ticket price will be changed as below;

Ordinary 7 Days : JPY 29,650 ⇒ JPY 50,000

Ordinary 14 Days: JPY 47,250 ⇒ JPY 80,000

Ordinary 21 Days: JPY 60,450 ⇒ JPY 100,000

Green 7 Days: JPY 39,600⇒ JPY 70,000

Green 14 Days: JPY 64,120⇒ JPY 110,000

Green 21 Days:  JPY 83,930⇒ JPY 140,000

The above prices might be changed without any notice.

The Japan Rail Pass (JR PASS) is known as unlimited pass to use Japan Railway transport(JR lines) including Shinkansen (bullet train) and Narita Express. You can choose 7 Days, 14 Days, and 21 Days pass and also there are two types of pass, Ordinary or Green pass.
