by From October 2022, Japanese government has eased the border and visa exemption program has been resumed. However, I know it’s melting pot society in Australia. There are still a lot of people who need to obtain visas to visit Japan.
Don’t worry! Temporary stay visa is very easy!
1. Get information your required document
Temporary Japan visa is basically to send more international travellers to Japan. So only if you collect all required documents, in most cases your visa is issued within 5 business days.
At first, check if you need a visa with Consulate General of Japan. Generally, Chinese, Thailanders, Vietnamese need a visa. Under certain cases, Indonesians also need a visa.
Once you know you really need a visa, let’s contact Consulate General of Japan to get information about your required documents, then start to prepare your visa.
2. Make appointment with agent (or via me)
Once you believe you collect all of your required documents, you need to make an appointment to visit Consulate General of Japan because they are still limiting the number of visitors to enter the building for their COVID safe rule.
However, the appointments are always really busy. I think the earliest available date may be a few months later. In such a case, you can use designated agents. They can apply for your Japan visa instead of you and they have priority to be able to visit the Consulate General of Japan, so you don’t have to wait for a few months. (Service fees apply in addition to the visa issue fee.)
3. Visit your agent and submit your document
Even if you can’t make an appointment directly with the Consulate General of Japan, you can apply via one of the agents.
Then even if there are any missing documents after your documents were submitted, you can submit those additional documents. Then all of the documents are ready, your visa process is started and basically your visa will be approved within 5 business days. (Considered both Japan and Australia calendar).
